I don't see any PDFs disappearing, either. And they are usually not just web page screenshots - the web content IS often the same and organized in a similar fashion.

Just for fun, folks might like to take a look at the IBM Library Server Library at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/LIBRARY - lots of the older stuff is still there, and architecture manuals, like for MO-DCA and stuff, is there.

I spend a fair amount of time giving feedback to the Knowledge Center
team. I don't think I've ever heard a remark that even hinted that all
PDFs are going away.

If they were to go away, I'd probably whip up a script to scrape the web
site and make the PDFs I use all the time: RPG, DDS, and SQL reference.
