Yes, we even have many numeric 'date' fields formatted this way. If I
had to guess, I would say that new tables (with genuine date columns)
make up 5% of our tables on the system. We are engaged in a very large
effort to rewrite the back end but we must keep the existing database
'design' running until the rewrite is complete.
