Has anyone did any save/restores from old system to new with some
'creative' techniques?

QFileSvr.400 should definitely bypass any WINS issues. QFileSvr.400 does
have a file size limitation that may be a consideration.
Then again, NFS instead of QNTC might bypass WINS also and many people
(myself included) prefer the stability of NFS over NetServer. See
commands: MOUNT, UNMOUNT, EXPORTFS.
