Paul,

You can certainly get more details than high level summary. We provide this to our customers all the time. When you first got your machine, it came with a 3 year warranty 5x8 and you paid for the uplift to 7x24 (which was probably around a $1000).

Now, you are paying for maintenance on everything. Looking at your config below, I know the issue is the SSDs. They will have driven your maintenance costs up for sure on renewal. Your BP should be able to give you separately the SWMA number, the machine (which will be your 8205 and all the draws), the tape drive, and the external DVD.

I was informed by BP that those numbers are for 9x5 maintenance only, does not include the 24x7 uplift.

What really shocks me is the maintenance renewal for 1 year is what we paid for 3 years back in 2012.
Reason for part of that could be both the P7 and the 3573 tape library came with 3 year warranty, so the 2012 maintenance number was a 24x7 uplift only.

They likely are close but the numbers certainly change. What's likely true are the ratios. For stuff of a given age prices change pretty much evenly either up or down.

The exception are SSDs. You have a MMC of $576 for those here and I
*THINK* that has gone down as SSD prices are falling much more quickly than most other hardware.

I did get a quote recently for my TS3200 which was a bit higher than your number here but I have two drives in mine. If you have just one this would be about the same.

For hardware they give you a number and for software a number.

You CAN get hardware detail but it's not easy or quick.

The hardware number would only be broken down the various Rack components so things like the System Unit, the I/O drawers, the HMC and
like that. Then there is the 24x7 uptick also that's a separate line item.
