Install Media is not a big issue - they can be copied on a PC.
But without the keys - you will end up installing every 70 days.
Disk drives like 6718 or 6719 might be cheap, check your local
internet auction site :)

Even with IBM i5/OS V5R4 you can use one single 6717 8.5gb drive,
but it is not recommended. Try to grab 6*6718, at least here in
germany they can be bought for about 20-30USD each.

have a free account on PUB1.DE, and QSYSOPR access at work, but wanted a box
with full access at home to try things I can't do on the above two systems.
Does anyone know where I might find install media for a 9406-270? Also, I
know I need AS/400 specific drives with the right firmware and low level
format. Does anyone have recommendations on the minimum number and size of
drives I need to look for to perform an OS install?
