From what I understand it's the "Send files to host" button, the host being
part of a proprietary program written for us and integrated into the system
(called GemList). Within GemList they take an order, make a quote, etc..
then "upoload it" to the system. I wasn't here for any of the inception of
this program, and unfortunately the people before me never heard of
documenting a process (which I aim to address is I can ever solve this
mystery) so this has got me blind-sided for now

This isn't enough information. From the sound of it, a "button at the top
of the screen" strikes me as NOT part of the green-screen (5250) interface
itself, but rather part of the client software. Maybe I'm wrong about that,
but you can at least narrow things down by telling us what the client
software is. For example, there is a product from IBM that used to be
called "Client Access" and is now sometimes still called that, but is more
properly called "IBM i Access". Some folks use Mocha TN5250, or PowerTerm,
or perhaps a few other choices.
I couldn't see your original screenshot; that might have been elucidating,
but this mailing list doesn't accept attachments. You'll need to post that
picture somewhere else, and send us a link to it.

Do you know what any of those are? Can you see how "we press a button"
doesn't answer the question?
I mean, the answer to practically EVERY "how did you do that" question is
either "I pressed a button" or "I clicked the mouse". We're trying to find
out what that button is connected to.
Maybe your upload (i.e. getting a file from the PC to *somewhere* on the IBM
i) worked fine, and there is another step which copies data from one place
*already* on the IBM i into the desired library. It will be a tremendous
help to know which leg of the journey was the problem.
