Because we Stack our backups from multiple LPARs on a single tape each
night we can't use BRMS ans SEQ. Mode works just fine for us. Thanks I
probably won't hear back from Techline for Several More Business Days.

I have never been able to get my grubby mitts on a SAS tape
library. With this in mind, everything I've been told is the
device must be set to sequential mode in order to be virtualized
using the VSCSI support rolled out in IVM, VIOS, and IBM i.

If this is documented anywhere, I would expect to find it in the
IBM i Technology Updates wiki pages at developerWorks.
