Sue,

Reviewed my system, expert cache is turned on *CALC for all pools, except machine pool, *FIXED.
It appears machine pool cannot be changed, is this correct?

I also remember configuring our old Power5 to use "expert
cache".
Does expert cache still apply on Power7.
How, where, do I check/do the expert cache config.

Yes, expert cache still applies.

WRKSHRPOOL is the easiest way to see the paging option for the memory pool. Or WRKSYSSTS and F11 until you see it. Change from *FIXED to *CALC to turn it on.
