× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I suppose that for the same reason that the P7 i'm installing right now
will run 6.1 instead of 7.2... Someone up the chain deciding to be a few
releases back because it's better. Sigh...

Granted, I am running into some issues where I've a few lpars stuck at 7.1
now due to IBM supplied software needing updating or replacing before
going to 7.2. And the update requires redoing everything from scratch
with zero migration.
