Hello to all,

A quick confirmation question. IBM is, as always, slow in updating the info
on the code matrix. But according to it the current stable and recommended
HMC code level for Power6 and Power7 is 7.7.9
I'm in the middle of installing a new Power7 for a client and part of that
setup includes using the old HMC (a C07) for both machines.
I checked the matrix and the current FW level for the p6 is OK (EL350_039,
old but supported on 7.7.9) but the current HMC code is hopelessly outdated
(7.3.5).
Searching the various links within IBM i find a document that says that i
can jump from 7.3.2 and up to 7.7.8 but when reading the same document for
7.7.9 it says that for that one it's 7.7.6 and up.
If that is correct i would have to do 7.3.5 -> 7.7.8 -> 7.7.9

My question is if by any chance has anyone seen a document saying that i
can jump all the way to 7.7.9 from 7.3.5. I'd rather do one update but i
have no problem doing both if that's what i takes.

Best Regards,

Roberto
