Here's what I'm thinking:

VIOS1--5735--Port0----HP Disk
+--Port1-----EMC VTL


You're looking to mix HP devices on one port and EMC devices on
the other port. I strongly encourage you to discuss this plan
with those two vendors.

IBM would tell you if it were IBM SAN storage on one port and
IBM VTL on the second port, it is fully supported but
discouraged because the devices may require different adapter
level firmware.

Also, there are usually different performance characteristics
between the disk and the tape workloads which could create
unique performance anomalies.
