Unfortunately, for now, that is the largest in the 1.8 form
factor.

Now the big question, create 3 to 4 I LPARs, non-VIOS,

What would the performance be with the backplane controller?
Is there a controller that would offer better performance?
(5913, ESA1, ESA3)??

I would expect for the 26 SSDs in question, it to be better than
24 SSDs on any of the features listed above.

IBM did add to the line up the EJ0J adapter with 12 GB of write
cache and the ability to support up to 96 HDDs, a mix of SSD/HDD
not to exceed 96 devices (I don't recommend this!), or up to 48
SSDs. This adapter is IBM's best for "internal" disk at the
present time with the POWER8 high-function back plance a close
2nd.

Sorry for the delayed reply, been out of the office for a bit.
