RE: Ordered latest cume

fixed

This fix is not well documented, yet a common issue.
I expressed that to the Small Products Group, which supports the order part of SNDPTFORD.

Jeff,

SNDPTFORD has a fallback mode, which will use various profiles.
I would do the DLTSRVCFG DLTCMNCFG(*YES) CRTSRVCFG ROLE(*PRIMARY)
CNNTYPE(*DIRECT) Service configuration *ECS

then rerun the verify.

I was not aware of this until recently when this fixed multiple
internment issues I was having with IBM remotes.
I was told that this usually has to be done after each OS/upgrade also.

We have a 3rd party HW service provider. Should I still be doing

When that 600+MB download finished, I had nothing. Really bizarre.

In the meantime, I did a PRTERRLOG that showed 2 informational errors:

Even though the Service Action Log showed nothing, my hardware
service provider suggested I open a PMR. So I did. IBM concurred
it was not hardware related but suggested I install the latest TR
and the latest
cume.
I related my experience as detailed in this thread including my
attempts to download the cume on 7/24. They checked the orders
and said they were rejected.

They suggested I try SNDPTFORD SF99710 again, so this morning I did.
After another 600+MB download, I now have 322 PTFs to load and apply.
Why it worked now and not before I don't know.

Any reason why I shouldn't download and stage the groups (HIPER,
DB, security, etc) and apply all at once?

Thanks.

Well, I gave up on getting that DVD as it's still not here.

So I did a SNDPTFORD PTFID((*CUMPKG)) DELIVERY(*LINKONLY)
REORDER(*YES).

The joblog says:

Message . . . . : Request for problem 1420547703 complete. PTFs
mailed.

Cause . . . . . : A program temporary fix (PTF) package has been
ordered.

Either the number of PTFs is too large to be sent
electronically, or one or
more of the PTFs requested is not available to be sent
electronically.
The
list of PTFs you requested is in problem record 1420547703.
The requested

PTFs will be mailed to you.

I said *LINKONLY you %$#@*&!!! Now I'm waiting on another DVD.

You may have a legit reason for wanting plastic (yes they do

But 10 days?

DVDs are still not here. I don't remember it taking this
long
before.
Is this normal now?
