But it will therefore make his PTF order huge.

I was wondering about that before I did it . . .

See, Jeff did REORDER(*YES) which means that even if you already have this
PTF, reorder it again. Which may be useful for certain situations like:
- doing an unload/reload to a new machine and you're going to load lic
from distribution media to reduce outage of formatting disks and whatnot
therefore you'll have to reapply PTFs
- distributing them to multiple lpars.
But it will therefore make his PTF order huge.

Jeff,

Have you done SNDPTFORD in the past?
Are you sure Service Agent properly working?

I just downloaded to my playground LPAR, took about 50 minutes.
Try using SF99710 instead of *CUMPKG

SNDPTFORD PTFID((SF99710 *ONLYPRD *ONLYRLS)) PTFPART(*ALL) RMTCPNAME(*IBMS
RV) RMTNETID(*NETATR) DELIVERY(*LINKONLY) DLVRYFMT(*SAVF) ORDER(*REQUIRED)
REORDER(*NO) CHKPTF(*NO)

Received 18% of 2269222811 total bytes, 28 minutes remaining at 9090887
bps.

If not sure about Service Agent

Delete
DLTSRVCFG DLTCMNCFG(*YES)

Create
CRTSRVCFG ROLE(*PRIMARY) CNNTYPE(*DIRECT)
Service configuration *ECS created.
Service configuration *SRVAGT created.

Testing/verifying
VFYSRVCFG SERVICE(*ecs) VFYOPT(*ALL)

Well, I gave up on getting that DVD as it's still not here.

So I did a SNDPTFORD PTFID((*CUMPKG)) DELIVERY(*LINKONLY) REORDER(*YES).

The joblog says:

Message ID . . . . . . : CPZ8C09

Date sent . . . . . . : 07/24/14 Time sent . . . . . . :
14:02:30

Message . . . . : Request for problem 1420547703 complete. PTFs mailed.

Cause . . . . . : A program temporary fix (PTF) package has been
ordered.

Either the number of PTFs is too large to be sent electronically, or one
or
more of the PTFs requested is not available to be sent electronically.
The
list of PTFs you requested is in problem record 1420547703. The
requested

PTFs will be mailed to you.

I said *LINKONLY you %$#@*&!!! Now I'm waiting on another DVD.

You may have a legit reason for wanting plastic (yes they do exist)
but mostly I see folks use disks only because they are resisting
change.

I didn't download. I deliberately ordered it via SNDPTFORD
with DELIVERY(*ANY) hoping that it would be mailed, and that's what
the results said.

I wasn't in a rush and that would give me time to permanently apply
existing PTFs, which I have done.

But 10 days?

All,

I ordered the latest 7.1 cume 10 days ago on 7/11. The DVDs are
still not here. I don't remember it taking this long before. Is
this normal now?

Thanks.
