Have a TS3200 tape library, 4 drives, 1 assigned to partition A and one to
B.
Fiber channel attach. Drives 3 and 4 for network backup.
BRMS not in use (yet)

Tapes were initialized earlier in day so both drives were working.
Backup jobs on each partition start at same time.
Partition A completed CHKTAP and save ran fine
Partition B had CPF6760 saying device not ready from CHKTAP *REWIND

In morning, both drives in Vary On status.
Web client said both drives ready.
However, could not DSPTAP in Drive 2.
Had to move tape to I/O, then move back to drive.
Now it works.
This was first day production on new drive. Previous tests were ok, but not
simultaneous.
I know they can save at same time but do I need to stagger the start, or
retry after
CPF6760?
Jim
