I remember Dr Franken mentioning that with SAS disk there is a
way to format 300Gb disks into 281Gb and vice-versa, i just
got a batch of 300Gb which of course appear as 6600 to my
I_BASE_01, i was wonderin how exactly that format can be
applied, maybe i have to hook them up to a VIOS partition?
(that would be time-consuming as my vios machines dont have
3.5" bays) Or maybe it's related to the linux iprconfig tool i
googled? Well if anyone knows, i may put those disks to good
use...

The key here is 3.5" SAS drives. Those do not have proper VPD
to allow formatting for IBM i to recognize if they were
purchased as AIX disks.

Some of the early 2.5" disks suffer the same fate. These would
be drives which can go into CECs of POWER7 boxes or 5802 and
5803 enclosures.
