Those LUNs are all from the same array so any IO to any of
those disks really impacts the array as a whole, in that case
it should work the same as creating the hosted disks on the
host's ASP, right?

Correct, if the LUNs live on the same physical backing storage,
then IO to the LUNs should be spread across that backing
storage. However, different devices do this in different ways.

The considerations are different for SAN attached storage versys
Power Systems feature coded storage.
