Going back to your original message, you probably could get the information that you need from...

HMC Management-->View HMC Events

It's the same information without the extra clicks and you can access it as hscroot (or a user with proper authority).

You have to be logged in as user hscpe.

Then, Service Management-->View HMC Logs.

The entries aren't very informative on the resulting screen (in my estimation) but you can click on each timestamp and view expanded information for that entry.
