Re: Email spoolfiles wider than 132 with pag rotation set to *devd causing truncation

fixed

Paul,

Sorry if I missed it, but what are you using to do the PDF conversion? I
know for our SPLTOOL product we can set attributes of the PDF dependant
upon the spooled file attributes (among other things).

So if you have a report wider than 132 that means you may need to tell the
application to shrink the font (at the very least) in the PDF or the right
edge may appear truncated simply because the data ran off the available
"real estate" of the page itself.

Hi Paul

You could create a copy of the spooled file by using an user space and
the APIs qspgetsp, qusrspla, qspcrtsp, qspputsp and qspclosp. Before
creating the new spooled file, you could change the appropriate values
in the data structure, that you get from qusrspla.

If you need sample code please contact me.

Best regards

We need to email some older spoolfiles, width wider than 132, with page
rotation set to *devd.
Truncation occurs.
Current spool files work, we've changed page rotation to *auto in the
print file before creating the spoolfile.
The problem is that page rotation is one spool file attribute that
cannot be changed after spoolfile is created.
Has anyone ever come up with a solution?

Thank You
