RE: iSeries Address standardization and lookup software

fixed

That sounds odd... These "install addresses" aren't stored anywhere? How do you know where to send the stuff to be installed? I'm sure you didn't mean that, but you imply that you have no way of applying address standardization to them... I'm confused.

We have a standardized address format and service programs to apply the address correction business on all address changes (or adds). We can apply this to any address, within any file, fairly consistently. I'm sure something similar would work for you.

Not trying to put you off, just curious...

I want to thank everyone for their input.
One issue, which I don't think anyone's software will handle, is we have many customers whose physical install address is different than their postal mailing address. Because of this, install address will not be in the address data base, thus cannot verify/validate nor determine the location for mapping and/or taxing/franchise purposes.

I have used Per/ZIP4 for address standardization and correction. The only issue I've noticed is that the USPS does not list all physical locations in its database. Some street addresses are not serviced by mail delivery (perhaps PO Box only), and it sometimes takes a while for new addresses to come into the database. I think most of these issues are due to USPS and not really the fault of the vendor.

We currently use Group1 CODE1-Plus software, for inquiry lookups and for address standardization.
We call Code1-Plus 'C1MATCHI' to return an address in a standardized format, from 2 different databases, then we compare the results to see if equal.
We are looking for replacement options, annual maintenance is high (5-digits)

Does anyone use any address standardization and/or address inquiry software on the iSeries.

Thank You
