Mark,

IIRC, beginning with V6R1 IBM brought out a new version of Java that
addresses up to 32 bits. The old one (64) is still available on your
system. I'm afraid that in our shop we are still running V5R3, so I don't
know how you can choose between the 32 and the 64-bit versions at
runtime(an environment variable, perhaps?).

I'm not very knowledgeable on Java on the IBM i, but I think that *maybe*
your programs are trying to address more than 32 bits and, at the same
time, are running with the 32 bits JVM. If this is the case, I believe that
recompiling them wouldn't accomplish very much. You would need them to run
under the 64-bits variant.

There a lot of Java experts on this list, and I hope that can give their
insights on your problem.

Regards,

Luis
