Are you certain there is not an authority issue on the other server?
Any log there?

It would help to see whole log.

Assuming you are doing a GET,
is there something like this after the GET for the successful transfers, and not for the 1st.

229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||50514|)
150 Connection accepted
226 Transfer OK

Is the other system type identified?
Any other entries?

I have FTP scripts accessing a server from our iSeries Power 7. The process will error on file 1 with "425 Can't build data connection: Connection refused. " the go onto file 2 and down load it to the iseries. It will then download files 3 say 6 the error on file 7. Any thoughts as to what the issue might be?
