Generally, impossible. It depends on how it is written. If it was just a
stand alone C application it might be possible to port it but if it written
in VB or C# or Microsoft languages completely impossible. Not just the
languages but also a big part of any Microsoft application is register
entries. Same thing would apply to a port to Linix.

My opinion only.

About going to Linux, I have no idea. Generally it is driven by the
software rather than application. If the application you want is running on
an AS400, you buy the AS400. If it written and runs on Linux, you buy
Linux. Now does, of course, almost everything is some kind of combination.

Hi,

Was just wondering how difficult is it for application running on Windows
to moved accross to AS/400?

Is it easier for them to be moved to other platforms like Linux or AIX?

Also, are more new customers opting for Linux rather than AS/400?

Thanks and Regards,
Vikhyath.
