RE: Back ups with High Availability Web Server

In the help for SAVSYS (which, unlike what many people think, does not
save the entire system), it says:
The Save System (SAVSYS) command saves a copy of the Licensed
Internal Code and the QSYS library in a format compatible with the
installation of the operating system. It does not save objects from
any other library. In addition, it saves security and configuration
objects that can also be saved using the Save Security Data
(SAVSECDTA) and Save Configuration (SAVCFG) commands.

So, I would bypass a SAVSYS on a daily basis. It's primary intent is to
make a bootable tape. Just how often are you patching your licensed
internal code? I've not researched performing a save while active of the
library QSYS.
You can run the SAVSECDTA and the SAVCFG independently of the SAVSYS. I
do on my daily backups. I also do a RTVCFGSRC to a source file.
