About 12 years ago I designed a "poor-man" SCM system. When the programmers
"promoted" a source member from the development system to production, the
controlling program copied the source to a repository library with a new
name (using a sequence number). At the same time, the changes (old name,
new name, user id, reason for change, etc) were logged to a file. The new
source was then automatically copied to the production system and compiled
there.

Sadly, a couple of years later they went thru a management change. The new
boss thought that it was too much hassle, and it was decided to write the
changes directly in production (!!). Fortunately, I was already out of
there . Unfortunately, they just deleted my SCM library (and I didn´t have
a copy :-( )

Regards,
Luis
