I am betting they are SCSI. The first raid set consists of units 1 - 8.
You originally started out with somewhere between 4 and 7 units because
the raid stripe is only spread out on four drives, units 2-5.
(35G-26G)=9Gb. 9GB times 4 is roughly 35GB which is the drive tied up for
raid striping.

Units 9-16 have the raid stripe spread out across all 8 drives
(35GB-31gb)= 4gb. 4gb times 8 is roughly the 35GB which is the drive tied
up there for raid striping.
