Re: problem updating IBM i Access for Windows 7.1 to latest PTF

It works fine for me, as well - I am complaining that when I tried to update to the latest, it gave me a message that had no way to click on the URL.

I was also surprised that I needed to get the VC++ 2005 Redistributable updates. They were already on my laptop. But maybe they were too old.

In any case, for the sake of others, when doing an update to IBM i Access, check for the Microsoft security items for a current version - whether you have them on your machine or not.

Now to talk about CHKMSGID on a subfile field, using message data! Oh wait - that was another thread!

I sort of figured this had to do with the VC++ Redistributable, and it
was - thought I'd already put on the latest, but apparently not.
