Data Transfer

. . . trying to transfer multiple save files simultaneously? I have never
see a single FTP session so much as tickle the performance capability of a
LAN card. So, if your disk arms are up to the task, and the rest of your
system isn't constrained, perhaps running multiple transfers at a time
would be the option.

True.
In FTP, MPUT or MGET can be nice alternative.
You should have some kind of check (ie. a count of received files) on the receiving side to make sure all the files got there.
