IASPs do allow for a nice testing tool, seems to me - they are essentially mini LPARs - you can have the exact same set of libraries in each IASP, you just activate one at at a time as needed.

Data can be saved and restored between IASPs, even when they are not activated.

To the question here, they are implemented as a second level in the IFS - multi-level of a sort! Heh! That'll probably raise a question I won't go into, as I won't have an answer.

There is something kind of like this. Not that I've played with it. But
independent ASPs (or IASP) might be an option. However, I think that puts
you into the "one or the other" category.
