I've been playing with a nice lot of machines, i tried to start playing
with the biggest one, a 9406-MMA (power6) but the dangers of buying
hardware AS-IS finally reared their head.
HMC sees it fine, updates firmware OK but any time it attempts to start it
ends with a 1100 8414 src. That SRC is "bad vpd" and the PIP points to 2nd
processor assembly. Since i dont have another MMA around to test and the
manual doesnt specify...
Is there any way to bypass said assy? I havent seen a 550 or 570 without
both processor assemblies, even when they had 1 or less processors
activated so i doubt the system can run without, but nonetheless i ask
anyways: "Is there a way to bypass or otherwise run without the second
processor assembly?" i was tempted to just take it out and start the
machine but i'm waiting to see if i can get my hands on another assembly
and test again...

Best Regards!
