Re: Display screen widths

This is related to a problem I just ran across, plus a simple question I could not fully answer.

First, the simple question:

Will both of these lines give the same results?

00010 DSPSIZ(24 80 *DS3 27 132 *DS4)
00011 DSPSIZ(*DS3 *DS4)
-----------------------------------------------
Then the problem: I have PRGMW which displays a 5-line by 40-column window. I have PRGMA which displays a *DS4 5250 session, and on occasion calls PRGMW. PRGMW blanks the *DS4 screen before it displays its window. It does not blank a *DS3 screen. Is this expected behavior or have I missed something?

size.
Cause . . . . . : The file SMK002D in library *LIBL display size
(DSPSIZ) parameter
value is not the screen size of the device CYNDIB1.
Recovery . . . : Close the file. Change the DSPSIZ parameter value.
Create the file again, and then try the command again.


Here are the two DSPSIZ statements in the two different display files
SMK001D
A DSPSIZ(27 132)

SMK002D
A DSPSIZ(24 80)
