The point of group profiles is to give a group of related users common authorities to the objects they all use (rather than having to give it to them individually, or give it to everybody), and to give them, if desired, common ownership of objects they create neatly sidestepping the problems that can occur if one does a DLTUSRPRF OWNOBJOPT(*DLT) (Doing this if the user in question owns objects that others need "would be bad" in the sense of "Don't cross the streams"; I speak from the experience of having had to pick up the pieces for customers, and it's much worse than, say, catching the wrong bus and ending up in Hawaiian Gardens).
