Some other item to think about: Is your system powered off upon
completion of the PWRDWNSYS?

On a multiple lpar system you may have to run multiple PWRDWNSYS and
perhaps the linux or aix equivalents. All partitions are down. Is your
system down? What about the FSP? Does it matter if that's powered off
orderly or not? If you do care, how do you power off the FSP with a ups
program from IBM i?

Is there a way/benefit to hooking up your UPS power warning cable to your
HMC? If so, is there a way to communicate from your HMC to your
partitions that they need to consider shutting down?

I know that if my UPS cable is hooked correctly to my Power 6 then all
lpars will know when the power is out. I tested that by flipping the big
breaker on the wall that goes TO the ups. All partitions got the QSYSOPR
message. Don't know how to handle that in Linux. That's the other guy's
problem.
