Re: MIDRANGE-L Digest, Vol 12, Issue 1138

fixed

Paul -

I don't know about you, but time I spend here is time that I cannot bill to my client - hence, advice which I supply is being provided at *my* expense.

The minimum that I would expect of someone who asks for assistance here is that they first learn how to search for information on the internet and/or on the IBM Information Center and at least try to figure out the basics before asking very basic questions here...

It seems to me that some really basic knowledge of the platform is lacking, and perhaps his employer should provide some additional training on IBM i.

BTW, I would encourage "Crystal Reports" to study the excellent advice from Eric Raymond on requesting help from mailing lists/forums before posting another request for help - How to Ask Questions the Smart Way:

Does anyone else feel like we are handing the keys to the Porsche to our pre-adolescent son? :-O

(and, yes I feel terrible for saying this)

You don't need to prompt the STRSQL command. Once inside STRSQL then type 'CREATE VIEW' and press F4.

Bill, I don't see the View option here: There will be the Iseries Nav installed but not sure when, in the meantime I just want to see if this helps the Crystal Report time.

I started to use the WRKLNK. It asks for Object and Object type.
?
If I want to make a view as we have been discussing, what do I enter for these?

I am trying to create a view that the Crystal reports will access.
