Other than the slash not being acceptable due to a trademark by CISCO, and a reference to a non-existent OS release v5r4m5 [that is a LIC release, not the OS which is inclusive of the LIC; and thus if included, implies 6.1.1 should also have been listed]...

I believe that the list presented in the quoted text actually describes almost exactly what had IBM intended since the IBM i naming came about. At least from what I recall of the IBM /naming/ and trademark documents I reviewed internally. With the Version.Release [shown as v.r] being optional, for whenever the context does not require expressing a release level, and the "OS" omitted:

IBM i v.r on Power

IBM DB2 for i v.r on Power

IBM AIX v.r on Power

IBM DB2 for AIX on Power

Note: The "i" was not abandoned for a former name as was done with the "p" designation reverting back to AIX. So much for naming consistency in the marketing ;-) And while Z [still, AFaIK] has no "on Power", I recall almost exclusively seeing only "z/OS" appearing in similar product naming; e.g. "IBM DB2 for z/OS" is almost every occurrence found by a web search for "IBM DB2 for z ", where most of those are "IBM DB2 for z series" which were an improper way to have written "IBM DB2 for zSeries". These comments were offered only to incite the folks /angry/ about the "i" naming ;-) but I doubt anyone will have read this far.
