Re: How does TCPIP start on a 7.1 system?

I am sure we've talked about this a few times but I am not able to find
the answer.
I also believed it changed (in 6.1 or 7.1) from earlier versions of the
OS.

On my newest lpar, which never existed before 7.1, I did a DSPSYSVAL
QSTRUPPGM. Then I did a RTVCLSRC QSTRUP, browsed that source for TCP and
got no hits.

I am wondering what program checks the IPL attributes, sees whether or not
'start to restricted state' was selected, and then calls the program
specified in QSTRUPPGM. I knew this at one time... Half tempted to put
in a DSPJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT) in a startup program and IPL just to get the
call stack.

Further research shows:
Looked at DSPJOBD QSTRUPJD. The request data there has it call
QSYS/QWDAJPGM. That's a CL program. Of course, all attemps to RTVCLSRC,
STRDBG PGM(QSYS/QWDAJPGM) OPMSRC(*YES), etc are not letting me see it.

Prompting CHGIPLA and you'll see that apparently you CAN set STRTCP *YES
while still having start to restricted state equal to yes.
