Do you use RunSQLStmt in production environment?

No.

Our team is beginning to use it more and more on a 6.1 system and I am
curious as to the intelligence of using it as opposed to SQLRPGLE
programs and imbedded/static SQL statements where one can logically trap
for errors using SQLSTATE and GET DIAGNOSTICS, etc.

Your thoughts? Can you think of reasons pro or con?

Lack of error handling hurts a lot.
Lack of SELECT means no data extraction.

I do use this to create a test environment though - it's great to be
able to INSERT my own test cases into a database extract. It's great to
be able to create that extract too. INSERT an assortment of customer
master records from production into the test environment, then INSERT
records into the child files the same way, but WHERE there is a customer
in the test database. Do it in the proper order the test database has
internal integrity.
