John,

I will put everything into a positive light. Ok?

I get the impression that either you've been in development for awhile and
now have to do admin also, or,
You're coming from another platform.

I'll say this as if you're coming from another platform. I suggest you
use one of two solutions. Either "IBM System i Navigator for Windows", or
"IBM Navigator for i". The former is probably on your system at Start,
Programs, IBM i Access for Windows, System i Navigator. The latter can be
found with a web browser at http://youribmi:2001 but works much better at
7.1 with http group ptf SF99368 at level 16 or higher.

The former is what Jim was talking about.

Reading the guide that others recommended is a good idea also.

There are green screen commands that may work, depending on your release
of OS and/or what optional products you have installed. IOW you pay extra
for the green screen versions of what comes free with iNav.
WRKSYSACT is one of those commands.
See also GO PERFORM.
