You'll find quite a bit of information by searching under IBM brand names PowerVM and PowerHA. By ACTIVE-ACTIVE hot swaps, I gather that you're talking about instantaneously switching all job processing from one Power Server to another. Search on Live Partition Mobility, which is another IBM brand name supported by IBM i 7.1.

With the different nuances between z, AIX, and IBM i, I'm not sure this will settle your bar bet, however.

Settle a bar bet-- does the iSeries (any OS release) do HACMP, like you'd find in zOS?  Can you do ACTIVE-ACTIVE, hot swaps, etc?
