Ahh. You need to use a reporting tool or put it into a stored procedure to do this. Wrkqry does some very rudimentary grouping capabilities like a real reporting tool does.

SQL is for information retrieval, reporting tool is for display purposes.

I think Frank is looking to group indicate the names. So:

ALEX KAPILF ALLITARB4 ALLITARB4
ANDREW LAJR C34TIPPFZ2 C34TIPPFZ2
X12CVMSF X12CVMSF
ANN MCKE P08RATRF P08RATRF
C36TIPPF C36TIPPF
D75LEINF D75LEINF
P88MAILF P88MAILF
QSYSPRTX QSYSPRTX
X24RCVMF X24RCVMF
P09DUPLF P09DUPLF
ANNE MULDEG C01CAXF C01CAXF
C01DETF C01DETF
C03EMPLF C03EMPLF
C12EMPLF C12EMPLF
C17LOSSF C17LOSSF
C23CLEXF C23CLEXF
C23CLSSF C23CLSSF
C25NODTF C25NODTF
C35TIPPF C35TIPPF

I don't know how to do that in raw SQL or I'd be more helpful :-(

Subject: SQL break ?

Hi Folks, when I run this statement;

SELECT RDDTNM, RDRSET, RDRPTN FROM REPRD ORDER BY rddtnm I get the screen below but how can I remove the duplicate names and only show one name for every report set? I know it's doable with wrkqry but I'd like to use SQL.

Thanks, Frank
