Rob,

I also experienced an unwanted IPL to get a mountpoint back. IBM directed me to the 'soft' mount option.

Hi, Rob:

Further poking around the V7R1 InfoCenter, I found this topic:

I typed "mount" in the search box in the upper left side of the InfoCenter web page (above the tree view), and clicked on "GO" ... about the sixth result down the list returned, I found "Working with dynamically mounted file systems"

IBM i 7.1 Information Center > Files and file systems > Integrated file system > Working with files and folders using IBM Navigator for i

"Working with dynamically moiunted file systems"

So, it looks like you can get what you are after, but you have to use Ops Nav to do it ... :-\

HTH,

Hi, again, Rob:

Another thought, which I have not had time to investigate ...

Perhaps there is some kind of "audit trail" written to QAUDJRN for
each mount and unmount operation?

Help me communicate with you Mark. How do I get a listing of all
mounts that myself, (and others), may have done? They may not have
told me that they did any mounts.
