I use a single zone with everything in it. All lpars can have the tape
library varied on at the same time. One library has four drives, one has
three. All lpars see all drives on the library in their location. I can
have the same number of lpars accessing the library at the same time as
there are drives. They may not always get the same drive but who cares?
BRMS manages the media. At the location with more lpars than drives I
just have to be a little careful scheduling the backups. No big deal.
