RE: IBM i Access on Windows 8 tablets

Brad, just curious. What made you go for the Microsoft tablet when you can get other tablets that run windows 8 for 1/2 the price? I was impressed by the MS tablet until I saw the price tag.

I just got my Surface Pro 128 yesterday (got lucky and snagged it online at a local BB before the store opened) and it runs powerterm just fine. I've been running the same copy of powerterm for years and years. I'm sure it would run CA just fine as well as any other Windows software.

The Power hardware is pretty slick, but I think people who don't have
lots of legacy application baggage are more apt to use a version of
Linux / Unix on the power platform rather than iSeries for a whole

Thank you. It's the Golden Rule thing: Do unto others as you'd have
them do unto you. When IBM launches rNext I'm sure they'd like all
the players to have participated in the beta program and be ready on
GA date. W8 had an extensive beta program. IBM should have been on that like stink.

If it's Windows RT, then "no" as it's not x86/x64-based.

If it's Windows 8, then "yes" since it's Windows 8. Tablet is just
the formfactor. You linked to a Surface Pro, which runs real Windows
8. Once IBM supports Access on Wn8 it will work.
