Subject: RE: Windows 8, Explorer and single IFS files... slow? (try
this)

Try this, it is also a problem in Windows7

Go into Control panel on your pc
.....click on Administrative Tools
.....click on Services
.....scroll down and look for Web Client .....click into it, it probably
says ... manual .....change it to Auto and also Start the service
.....starting in Windows7, the default was changed to manual

You should find a significant improvement in performance

I can't find the document I found for this ....just happened to find it
searching for something totally different

Hope it helps

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Running Windows 8 and ever since when I try to view or edit a single
file in the IFS using Windows Explorer, it seems to take a 20-30 seconds
to finally start.

Example, right click on an HTML file, edit with dreamweaver or even
Notepad and it takes about 30 seconds.

Now, click on multiple files and it's almost instantaneous.

Copying files doesn't seem to have any difference if it's one or
multiple files. Just when you're using an application to view/edit a
file does it seem to take extra time.

Anyone else notice this? Or any ideas what could cause this? It's quit
annoying. :)
