Is this the right syntax to end it?

ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(APACHE)

ENDTCPSVR *HTTP
TTPSVR(instance-name) to end it or STRTCPSVR similarly

There's not just one Apache Server, there's one for each instance. Only one of
hem is monitoring port 80, of course.
Use NETSTAT option 3 to find the job that's monitoring port 80 or whatever other
orts your Apache Server instances may be monitoring. The jobname should guide
ou to the name of the instance. Then you can use ENDTCPSVR *HTTP
TTPSVR(instance-name) to end it or STRTCPSVR similarly to start it.

i Folks, thanks for this info but how about an answer to this question. I
nstalled software that I know uses the apache server and I know how to restart
he apache server but how do I know what other interruptions would be caused on
y system by restarting the apache server? Is there a way to tell what's using
he apache server, perhaps by wrkobjlck or some other cmd?
hanks, Frank

You can drill down to the logs via wrklnk command.
wrklnk 'www/apachedft/logs'

Whew - I'd be VERY surprised if the Apache server instance logs are
directly off the root of the IFS - I certainly hope not!

There are 2 kinds of logs - an access log and an error log - I believe
that one of them is in a fairly standard format, which log readers
will understand. The other is a pain in the neck - been there, done
that, no t-shirt!

Google for "apache log reader" - you'll get tons of hits. The access
log is very useful, in my mind. The error log gets more specific to
IBM i and is not as useful for us yet. Very proprietary, it seems.

Good luck
Vern

you should be able to find them in the www directory, then drill down
into
our directories and look for a directory called logs

Hi Folks, I'm trying to access the logs output by apache and the link

Do
any
of you folks know that?
Thanks, Frank
