SCM apps should do that for you - Aldon, TurnOver, RTC, all make some kind of archive when checked in. It's a matter of timing.

And they can have pre-checkout actions set up, so that you could make that copy when checking out an object to a developer.

Much simpler, seems to me. But that's just me.

Answered my own question again :)

Was able to trap an SEU change request and also an RDP object lock request.

Now this will work all the way back to V5R1 since we have a mix of machines internally.

My goal was to be able to create a passive mechanism for the developer which will detect source changes on the I and archive a copy before editing whether using SEU or RDP.

Answered my own question, however it only works for V7R1.

For those of you looking to control who can edit with SEU/RDP

Subject: Exit Point When Opening a Source Member with RDP ?

I have a quick source editing question.

Does anyone know if there is any i-side exit points that can be triggered when editing a source member from RDP ?

It looks like SEU has this capability via an exit point.
