No one has ever given IBM points for naming things..... (duck and run...) BRMS was Backup and Recovery Management System before IBM via Tivoli started the Business Rules Management System, but Rochester was unable to keep Software Group from using that name.

To stop the messages, remove the BRMS exit program from the Media and Storage Extensions exit point.

Although it really would be better if you would just start using BRMS but that's another discussion

Fascinating: even within the context of IBM, "BRMS" can mean at least
two completely different things (the other one being "Business Rules
Management System).

I still don't get why it is, by default, even caring whether or not it's
a BRMS tape, and I have no clue what is involved in "registering" a tape
with BRMS; we just format them and use them, reformatting as needed.
