Start up of the server is still quite hard on the system but once it starts it works very well. Performance of IBM Navigator for i is a bit dependent on tuning and memory availability but assuming those to be dealt with properly it performs admirably. It is a strong improvement over the former web based programs (some of which are still used such as the web server configuration tools) but most of the items do well. I am impressed with the improvements.

After the PTFs come out I would give it a try, I think the redesign and functionality is excellent, as well as an improvement in performance. I think your pretty close to dumping the Windows environment on the MAC, at least from Navigator's perspective.

What is the performance like? I have tended to steer away from the web based Navigator functions because it seemed so sluggish. Not that the Ops Nav is any speed demon but ...

As a Mac user I would love to have one less Windows based tool to worry about. The new emulator is pretty good and runs well on the Mac - if the browser based Navigator performs that will be great. Then all I have left to get a native version of is RDP!
