I seem to recall that if DATE [maybe TIME?] data type are involved, then the RPG DATFMT and the SQL SET OPTION statement must effect consistent settings for the Date Format betwixt.

FWiW: I seem to recall that neither the initial thread nor this one had included both the RPG source and SQL DDL; only a couple very limited snippets. I am sure I recall similar issues that have been discussed on the RPG400 list; I think that was where I learned of some nuances with DATE data typee. Also, this issue seems very likely to be specific to the RPG, since the "host variables" are variables in the "host" language... and so any issues would generally relate to the declarations in that host language and the SQL pre-compiler's attempt to process the SQL in relation to those HLL declarations.
