My TS3100 has a 4gb card in it and the Power7 has an 8gb interface card (FC 5735)...

According to IBM, the connectivity option for the TS3100 and Power7 are:

8 Gbps fibre channel and 6 Gbps SAS interfaces
LVD SCSI, 4 Gbps fibre channel and 3 Gbps SAS interfaces (LTO-4 FH)

I've been told that the use of a 5735 interface card in the Power7 REQUIRES a fibre switch be used.

Is this the truth?
